Shortlist Die Haghe Literary Award 2018
September 2018 – Knight Without Fear and Beyond Reproach: the Life of George Maduro 1916 – 1945 is one of three books on the shortlist for the Die Haghe Literary Award, which is awarded once every two years for the best and most original book on the history of The Hague. The prize will be awarded on November 1 in The Hague by Professor Dr. Herman Pleij.
Dachau Memorial 2018

Closing out the ‘George Maduro 100′ year
8 February 2017 – The ‘George Maduro 100 Year’ closes with the unveiling of the statue of ‘Adult George’ by sculptress Jikke van Loon at Madurodam, with Princess Beatrix, Madurodam’s patroness and first mayor, in attendance.

The Cobbenhagen Center at Tilburg University is searching for the identity of the young man, presumably from Tilburg, who shared a cell with George Maduro in the ‘Oranjehotel’ and wrote a letter to his parents after the war.
